PNBC was honoured to attend the Indian Newslink Business Awards
PNBC was honoured to attend the Indian Newslink Business Awards today. The event brought together the Prime Minister, senior ministers, MPs, business leaders and community representatives from across Aotearoa. It was a good opportunity to listen, learn and make sure Pakistan’s economic potential was part of the national conversation. We held direct discussions with • The Right Honourable Christopher Luxon, Prime Minister of New Zealand • The Right Honourable Chris Hipkins, Leader of the Opposition and former Prime Minister • The Honourable Michael Wood, former Minister of Immigration, Transport and Workplace Relations • The Honourable Jenny Salesa MP, former Minister for Ethnic Communities, Customs and Building and Construction Our focus was clear. Pakistan remains an under recognised partner in trade. We stressed the need for fair market access, stronger bilateral engagement and practical pathways for exporters on both sides. These conversations will help shape a more balanced approach to Pakistan New Zealand trade in the future. We also spoke with the Honourable Vanushi Walters MP, Shadow Attorney General, about the new immigration bill. Many residency visa holders are anxious about how the changes will affect their status. PNBC raised these concerns and asked for clarity, consistency and proper consultation. Following today’s conversations, PNBC has been invited to two dedicated meetings with parliamentary members. One meeting will focus on trade facilitation and biosecurity compliant products. The second will cover legislative reform with the Shadow Attorney General. Our role is to advocate with honesty, depth and persistence. Your support strengthens this work and gives Pakistan’s business community a stronger voice where it counts. #PNBC #PakNZBusiness #ConnectingOpportunities
