A simple and graceful flag-hoisting ceremony was held in the morning at the Pakistan High Commission today. A cross section of the Pakistani community living in Wellington and adjoining cities, attended the event.
The Charge d’ Affaires welcomed the guests and in his remarks, highlighted the significance of the day. He underlined Pakistan’s contributions to world peace.
He spoke on Pakistan’s relations with New Zealand. He also stressed the contribution of the members of the Pakistani community in strengthening Pakistan’s relations with New Zealand.
The Charge d’ Affaires also appealed to the guests to come forward and contribute to the fund specially established for the construction of Diamer Basha and Mohmand Dams in Pakistan.
