What's On at the High Commission?

H.E. Syed Ibne Abbas High Commissioner for Pakistan presents Credentials.

His Excellency Syed Ibne Abbas, High Commissioner for Pakistan today presented credentials to The Sir Anand Satyanand, Governor General, in Wellington. The credential ceremony was held at the Vogel house, residence of the Governor General. On that occasion, a traditional Maori challenge and Hongi ceremony was also held to welcome the High Commissioner in New Zealand.

The Hon. Governor General welcoming the High Commissioner expressed the hope that Syed Ibne Abbas’s stay in New Zealand would prove to be fruitful to enhance ties between the two countries.  

Thanking the Governor General for the warm reception, High Commissioner conveyed best wishes from the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan to the Governor General, the government and people of New Zealand.  The High Commissioner pledged to work diligently towards further strengthening the friendly relations of Pakistan - New Zealand. 

The Governor General also hosted a luncheon in the High Commissioner’s honour.

Pakistan and New Zealand enjoy friendly and cordial relations. To concretize these relations, Pakistan High Commission was established at Wellington in May, 2006. Syed Ibne Abbas is the second High Commissioner of Pakistan to New Zealand.
